I Found Your Place...submitted
by R. Gary F. ... 7-8 years ago, when I
was hired by the
city of S.F. Elections
Dept. during the
2002 Gubernatorial
Race, and our little
team started coming
for lunch, and I
was living in the
Hostel on Harrison
around the corner
(so I didn't have
to commute from
East Bay), and have
brought friends,
family and lots
of first dates there
since. I live in
Sacramento, now,
but was there last
night, at closing...
and it was just
as good, just a
fresh, and just
as friendly. Never
disappointed my
choice to show you
off. Tried and tried
to find you on Food
Network Channel,
but then, there
it was on YouTube...
and you should put
this link on your
website! Great promo!!
I told my friend
last night, that
after 20 years in
and out of this
industry, in many
different concepts
and locations, from
running a mom and
pop bar-b-que place
for a friend, to
T.G.I. Fridays,
a local Mexican
place in Lafayette,
CA, that just celebrated
60 years on my 60th
birthday, last year,
and ending with
two fine dining
places, the last
being Absinthe in
Hayes Valley...
and you remain "The
Best" on my list!
Thanks, again.
Old Time Customers...submitted

... My husband and I were
so excited to find
out that Jimmy's
grandson has opened
a resturant named
Rocco's honoring
his grandfather's
work. Growing up,
Rocco's, on Mission
St., S.F. (Excelsior
District) was a
family favorite
for my husband's
family, my family
and then our favorite
place to eat until
the restaurant closed.
My mother-in-law's
favorite dish at
Rocco's was the
Turkey Croquettes.
My daughter's favorite
was Jimmy's homemade
rice pudding which
was kept in the
glass cabinet. I
loved having Jimmy's
(behind the resturant
grown) Swiss Chard,
which was kept in
a coffee can on
the grill. My husband
loved the thick
New York Steak.
My son loved the
raviolis. My husband
and I will make
sure, that in the
very near future
we'll come in again
for lunch or dinner.
